ATTIC & ROOF VENTILATION

Airflow.
Planned as a system.

Roof exhaust, soffit intake and the attic below need to be considered together.

Intake and exhaust each have a role.

A vented attic relies on an available path for outdoor air through the attic. The roof shape, vent positions and available eave intake affect how a proposed arrangement should be planned.

Ventilation is part of moisture control.

Reducing indoor air leakage through the ceiling and correcting household exhaust ducts are important alongside attic ventilation. Roof vents are not a replacement for those details.

Connect the attic to the roofing work.

When the scope needs new roof outlets, repairs around penetrations or related roof work, we can coordinate with Airway Roofing so the connected details are clearly identified.

Connect the details. Insulation, ceiling air sealing, attic ventilation and household exhaust are considered together when planning the scope.

WHAT THE SCOPE CAN INCLUDE

The work.
Clearly set out.

Insulated exhaust duct connected to a roof outlet

Intake availability

Review the eaves and visible air paths.

Roof exhaust arrangement

Discuss suitable vent locations and the related roof work.

Connected moisture sources

Look for ceiling leakage concerns and bathroom exhaust faults.

YOUR QUESTIONS

A little more
detail.

Is bathroom exhaust the same as attic ventilation?

No. A bathroom fan carries indoor moisture directly outdoors through its own duct and outlet. Attic ventilation manages outdoor air movement through the vented roof space.

Can you guarantee no more mould?

The source, moisture conditions and any existing contamination need assessment. Ventilation and insulation work are not a guarantee against every cause of mould or moisture.

YOUR HOME. YOUR NEXT STEP.

Let’s make a plan
for your attic.

Tell us the address and what you’re noticing. We’ll discuss the attic assessment and a written scope for the work.
